ouderdomspensioen_67

You accrue pension in three ways:

A. AOW: this is the pension you receive from the government (state pension). Read more about AOW on SVB.nl.

B. Pension at Forward. You accrue this pension via Unilever Netherlands. Read more in this Pensioen 1-2-3.

C. Pension you arrange yourself. For example, via an annuity or bank savings.

A. The Algemene Ouderdomswet (AOW) [General Old Age Pensions Act]
The AOW is the statutory pension from the government for anyone who has lived in the Netherlands. For every year that you are insured, you accrue 2% AOW pension. If you have been insured for the full 50 years preceding your pension age, you will get a full AOW pension. Currently, any person born on or after 1 Januari 1961 will have an AOW age of 67 years and 3 months.

The AOW amounts are adjusted annually. For the amounts, your personal AOW age and further information about the AOW, please go to the website of the Sociale Verzekeringsbank (Social Insurance Bank): SVB.nl.

Please note: If you have not always lived in the Netherlands, your AOW pension may be lower.

B: Pension at Forward
You can find the amount of your Forward pension online in Mijn Pensioen (only available in Dutch) and on the Pension Summary (UPO). You will receive the UPO once a year for as long as you accrue pension with Forward. The UPO states the old-age pension that you have currently accrued and the pension that you will receive at the retirement age if you continue to accrue pension with Forward until such time. The UPO also states the partner pension and orphan pension. This is pension for your partner and children should you pass away.

Please visit Mijnpensioenoverzicht.nl (only available in Dutch). Here you will find an overview of the entire pension you have accrued in the jobs you have had in the Netherlands.

C: Individual arrangements
You can arrange a supplement to your AOW and the pension you accrue via Unilever. Via bank savings or by taking out insurance - such as an annuity plan - for example.
